The world's number one selling Scotch whisky started with the pioneering vision of the Walker family. In 1860, John Walker and his family began building what is today the world's most exceptional blend. They created the distinctive square bottle for easier packaging and fewer breakages during shipping and the Striding Man motif: a famous mark that honours the pioneering spirit of Johnnie Walker. The label was coloured red, and in 1909, this red label was adopted as the name of the whisky, previously known as Special Old Highland Whisky. By the 1920s, Johnnie Walker Red Label was thriving in 120 markets worldwide.

Red Label is a blend of 35 grain and malt whiskies, a combination of light and elegant whiskies from Scotland's east coast, with the west coast's peaty and smoky drams providing exceptional balance. Zingy, edgy flavours of aromatic spices, plus a fiery touch of sweet chilli travel across the palate, with a long, lingering smoky finish. Johnnie Walker Red Label has a distinct personality and character, a style all its own. It can be served neat, on the rocks, or with ginger ale and apple juice in the Long Walker. It's also ideal in the Rob Roy cocktail, or the Rusty Nail, both stirred slowly to allow you to appreciate the bold, powerful qualities of Red Label.
