Sloes are the fruit of the wild blackthorn, and have been gathered for centuries by foragers to place in bottles mixed with gin. Over time this would leave a great taste and rich, dark colour in the liquid. Gordon's make their Sloe Gin with carefully selected ripe sloe berries, which have been macerated in gin and then matured in wood for a delicious, balanced fruity flavour, using the carefully crafted methods developed by Gordon's over two centuries.
This delicious spirit is a fine alternative G&T, replacing Gordon's London Dry Gin with Gordon's Sloe Gin but keeping the wedge of lime and tonic. It's an autumnal twist on the classic mixed drink that can be enjoyed at any time. Serve with lemonade or orange juice for a summery twist. Or simply enjoy the dark fruit flavours on their own, with ice. When you're looking to impress put a twist on some classic cocktails too. Gordon's Sloe Gin makes a delicious version of the Bramble, a modern classic. Mix with crème de mure, lemon juice and sugar syrup for a combination that makes the most of the dark fruit. Or use instead of rum and mix with brown sugar, soda water and basil leaves in place of mint for a version of the Mojito, called the Slojito.
