Hot Toddy

A sour based on the huge peat-smoke that’s typical of southern Islay whisky Lagauvlin, the powerful flavour, attractive garnishes and tasty mixers of this cocktail make it the ideal party serve.
Fill a cocktail shaker with cubes of ice.
Using a jigger, measure 50ml Lagavulin 16 Year Old, 50ml sour mix and 17.5ml orange juice into the shaker.
Shake the mixture vigorously until the surface of the cocktail shaker feels chilled
Use a cocktail strainer to strain the liquid into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
Top up with 25ml of carbonated water.
Use a sharp knife to cut a strip of lemon peel on a chopping board and twist onto the rim of the glass, along with one cherry to garnish.
