Johnnie Walker Red Label starts with the pioneering vision of the Walker family, who sought to take their whisky beyond the boundaries of their Scottish homeland. Alexander Walker created the distinctive square bottle in 1860, with a label angled at exactly 24°, so that it would stand out from all other whiskies. The Walker family wished to make Johnnie Walker Red Label the world’s most popular whisky, and didn’t give up until they had achieved that goal. In a world that used predominantly rounded bottles, Johnnie Walker became the most recognised.
Johnnie Walker Red Label combines lighter whiskies from Scotland’s east coast, with darker, peatier examples from the west coast, each with differences in flavour thanks to ageing and location. An exceptional array of different malts is combined to perfection by the Johnnie Walker master blender, for a whisky with great flavour and character.
